Day 30

Awaken Us: 40 Days to Fast & Pray – Day 30

The last couple of days we’ve looked at the spiritual discipline of regularly meditating on God’s Word, first from the Old Testament and then the New Testament.  Today, I would like us to look at the value of meditating on God’s Word to our spiritual development.  Yesterday we learned that we become what we spend time thinking about (Proverbs 23:7; Philippians 4:8).  The following are some of the benefits of a consistent practice of meditating on God’s Word:

  • It will renew your mind…Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:17-24
  • It will restore the soul…Isaiah 26:3-4
  • It will lead to confidence and stability in your life…Psalm 1:1-3
  • It will pave the way for God to show you His plan…Proverbs 3:5-6
  • It will establish your thoughts on Him…Proverbs 16:3
  • It will protect and guard your heart and mind…Philippians 4:4-7

Additional Scriptures: Psalm 40:17, 94:19, 104:34

Psalm 139:17-18
“How precious to me are your thoughts,God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand—when I awake, I am still with you.”

I am committed to pray for Revival in my own life, my marriage, my family, our church, our city, our state, and our country.
