Day 5

Awaken Us: 40 Days to Fast & Pray – Day 5

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions…” I Timothy 2:1-2

Thank you for your prayers – they are making a difference. “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

As you pray this day, please remember our political leaders.  May God give us men and women with HIS heart and mind.  Pray for their salvation that, instead of trying to erase God from our culture, they would embrace the God of our past – our only hope for our future.

In the upcoming elections please pray that God wouldn’t give us what we deserve.  May He have mercy on us!  At every level of government: Local, state, and federal, may godliness reign in the hearts of our leaders and may the Lord raise up those who will not compromise with the truth.

Please also pray for a revolution of repentance in our churches.  May we be honest with our God that we have not been the “salt and light” He called us to be. Perhaps that is one of the reasons for the spiritual condition in our country.  May the altars of our churches be filled with weeping for the lack of impact we have made.  And may the eyes of those that don’t know Christ be opened.  May there be another Great Awakening that historians will write about in future years.  In 2012, may we see a miracle – a changed spiritual landscape in America!

Thank you for urging us. God wants us to pay attention to HIM- in private, in public, in humility with His strength.

Amen! May we seek His perspective & not our limited one. True repentance & brokenness of spirit is what brings about true change! God honors that!
