Day 35

Awaken Us: 40 Days to Fast & Pray – Day 35

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”  Isa. 9:6

We wish you a very Merry Christmas on this special day when we celebrate the birth of our Savior.  Our prayer for you is that you’ll know the presence of Jesus in an even greater way in 2012.

Our verse above mentions just some of the names that describe our Savior.  One of those is “Prince of Peace.”  My, how we need peace in our world.  We are living in a time of turmoil — nations are rising against other nations, kingdoms falling; new ones rising.  Pray that God would bring peace to our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.  There is much persecution.  Pray also for “the peace of Jerusalem.”  Pray that Israel will remain safe.  This tiny country has enemies on every side that would like to see it annihilated.

Pray also for peace in our marriages and homes.  The Prince of Peace needs to come to many a home across our land.  Pray that fewer kids will have to grow up missing either a mom or dad…

Lastly, say a prayer for peace in our churches.  Many churches are filled with infighting and strife.  May the Prince of Peace come and bring a spirit of revival.  This is what we have been praying for over these past 35 days.  Thank you for joining us.  Rejoice, The Prince of Peace has come!  May you enjoy this wonderful day!
